There is nothing more fun than creating handmade things for your family to cherish for years to come. If you’re anything like my family, we celebrate St. Nick’s Day on December 6th. It is most definitely a Christian tradition so not everyone celebrates it.
If you celebrate it or not, you should still try this tradition out! Have each family member decorate their own stocking. Kids of all ages can do this! Have the younger ones help put on a few decorations for their’s or have them help someone else (their attention span won’t be long but they get their arts & crafts in for the day)!
Here’s what you might need:
Blank Christmas stockings for every member in the family (dollar store is a great place to get these or Target!)
*Those are just some suggestions for decorations to put on your stocking. Use whatever you want!! Craft store always have a variety.
If you are like me and don’t have time to go to several craft stores to get supplies, check out the link below to get it shipped right to your door!
Set up all of this on your kitchen table or wherever you have the most room. Allow your children to get creative with it! (Having more decorations or more of a vareity can be more beneficial but not too many!)
I absolutely love this time of year because it is so cheerful and festive! I made my own stocking a long time ago and have kept it all these years. Now it is something I can pass on to my kids as they grow up. Its a tradition I want to see through for my children.
DIY crafts are great for your kids and it gets your kids involved more in the holiday spirit rather than just opening presents on Christmas.
Decorating their own stocking will give them years of memories to share with you! Make it your family tradition today!
